Mingle : A social media banking platform by SBI

[dropcap size=small]I[/dropcap]ndia’s one of the prestigious and oldest bank, State Bank of India has taken banking to whole another level by launching Social Media Banking Platform, Mingle which is one of the many efforts of SBI to offer better digital experience to customers.

On the eve of 61st State Bank Day, Chairman of State Bank of India, Arundhati Bhattacharya introduced Social Media Banking Platform, Mingle for people that will make banking easy for the Facebook and Twitter users by hosting services on these social platforms as per their own satisfaction.

  • SBI’s customers will be able to access various services via these social networks.

  • First customers need to go through one time registration process, which is quite simple and can be done using   either ATM card details or account number, then one can avail these facilities at their own convenience.

  • After one time registration one can enjoy all the services available on the corresponding social platforms.

  • For now being Facebook users can avail facilities such as funds transfer within SBI, mini statement, and beneficiary management services.

  • Twitter users can get their account balance and mini statements simply by using hashtags.

On the same day SBI introduced another two tie-ups which will provide a more enhanced digital experience to its customers:

  1. SBI-Flipkart Partnership: Under this deal, if one shops for a minimum of 5000 Rupees on home-grown ecommerce giant Flipkart, they will get a offer of pre-approved EMI Facility on products they purchase.
  2. SBI Digital Villages: Under this scheme SBI will adopt the village and transform the village into cash less eco system. In the first phase of the project, SBI will take 21 villages and move them on the digital platform.

Although every time users want to access the application,they will asked to submit PIN because SBI don’t want to make any compromises when it comes to security as account holders will to be able to avail services like mini-statement, manage beneficiary and fund transfer which makes it a necessity to keep the details secure.
