Amazon is all ready to set the online marketplace on fire with its first ever “Amazon Prime Day” sale on 15th July 2015, on the occasion of its 20th Anniversary. This news has exploded across the Internet, with tabloids calling it “Black Friday in July” and “Amazon’s Own Sales Holiday“. It is being compared to Black Friday which is the official starting date of the Christmas shopping season, and marks the beginning of the Great Online Shopping Festival in India. Due to the expansion of eCommerce sites in India, Black Friday is becoming a major boon for shoppers across the country.

Amazon with it’s “Massive Global Shopping Event“, seems eager to redefine the term forever.

According to the website, “Prime Day is a one-day global shopping event on July 15, 2015, with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members.” A Prime membership is a paid one-year membership with free two-day shipping on selected items with no minimum order size. What is one of the best thing about Prime membership is that it is available free for a one-month trial. So even if you don’t have a Prime membership, or even if you don’t have an Amazon account, you can enroll now and still avail the Prime Day deals on 20 million prime products ranging from  electronics, toys, video games, movies, clothing to patio, lawn and garden, sports and outdoor items and more.

Aside from the new deals being offered every 10 minutes, Amazon has launched a photo contest to promote Prime membership. You just have to submit a photo of your favorite Amazon moment on their website before 15th July and you stand a chance to win $10,000 worth of gift cards! The only catch being that only one Prime account in each country will be selected as winner.

Sadly, the savings will only be available to Prime members in the U.S., U.K., Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, and Australia.
